Microgreens & Fermentation

Unique and instructional hands on workshops to enjoy with friends, family, couples, or solo. What started as microgreens classes has grown into something more. At Shoreline Shoots, I now offer hands-on workshops that teach practical, in-demand skills for growing and making food at home. From microgreens to probiotic sodas and sourdough, these workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly, informative, and fun, with no prior experience required.

 

Each workshop focuses on simple methods that fit into real life, helping participants feel confident growing, brewing, and baking at home. Whether you’re curious about growing fresh microgreens indoors, making naturally fermented probiotic sodas, or baking sourdough from scratch, these experiences are approachable, interactive, and delicious.

 

Below are the current workshop options available for individuals, groups, and collaborative events. Events are hosted in a variety of settings including community spaces, retail shops, boutiques, and private groups.

🌱 Workshop Option 1: Grow-Your-Own Microgreens

Beginner-Friendly • Hands-On • Take-Home Setup

What participants learn:

  • What microgreens are and why they’re so nutrient-dense

  • How to grow microgreens at home with minimal space and supplies

  • Best varieties for beginners and everyday meals

  • How to harvest, store, and use microgreens

What’s included:

  • Hands-on planting experience

  • Take-home microgreens kit (tray, soil, seeds)

  • Care instructions and recipe ideas

 🫧 Workshop Option 2: Probiotic Soda Brewing (Ginger Bug 101)

Fermentation • Gut Health • Naturally Fizzy

What participants learn:

  • What fermentation is and why it supports gut health

  • How to make and maintain a ginger bug starter

  • How to brew naturally fermented probiotic sodas at home

  • Flavor ideas and fermentation safety tips

What’s included:

  • Live demonstration and hands-on brewing

  • Take-home ginger bug starter

  • Simple recipes and fermentation guide

🍞 Workshop Option 3: Sourdough for Everyday Life

Traditional Skills • Digestive Health • Comfort Food

What participants learn:

  • What sourdough is and why it’s easier to digest

  • How to care for and maintain a sourdough starter

  • Basic sourdough baking concepts and schedules

  • Easy ways to incorporate sourdough into everyday meals

What’s included:

  • Take-home sourdough starter

  • Glass jar with lid, silicone jar band, and silicone stirring paddle

  • Feeding and baking instructions

  • Tips for success with busy schedules

  • Freshly baked sourdough breads and baked goods to sample during the workshop

  • Take-home recipes to continue baking at home
